Meine Kleine Mnemosyne [MKM Gallery] ist die Werkschau eines autonomen  internationalen Künstlerkollektivs, Galerie und Denkraum zugleich. Sie findet in wechselnden Hängungen statt, Ausstellungseröffnungen sind einzelnen Werken gewidmet. Die Gründungsdirektorin A.S. Bruckstein empfängt ihre Gäste persönlich. 

Mit Künstlerinnen und Künstlern aus Damaskus, Istanbul, Teheran, Beirut, Berlin, Amsterdam, Bagdad, Mostar, London, Paris, u.a.

The work series of Istanbul artist Onur Hastürk show a contemporary engagement of Ottoman illuminated manuscripts and miniature paintings stunning in its meticulous technique and delicate gender-fluid imagery. The exhibition will show brand new works to be created at the Taswir artist residency in April, 2025. 

Onur Hastürk (*1983 in Mersin) was trained in the traditional art of gilding, Ottoman miniature paintings and Islamic illuminated manuscripts. Hastürk has held various solo and collective shows in Istanbul and abroad, such as in Milan, Rome, Porto, London, and Düsseldorf (Anna Laudel). The artist lives and works in Istanbul.

“A Portrait of Michel” is an investigative video portrait of the Uncle of the artist, Michel, and the circumstances surrounding his mysterious abduction by the Hafez al-Assad regime in Damascus in 1978. Through witnesses and bribery, we found out he was sent to three different prisons: Mezzeh, Sednaya, and Palmyra. Michel was never seen or heard from since.

Christine Gedeon, born in Aleppo/Syria and raised in the USA, is an artist, researcher, and filmmaker who lives in Berlin and New York. She is the recipient of numerous residencies, grants, and fellowships, and held various solo and group exhibitions in Berlin, Dubrovnik, New York, and Toronto, among others.

The work series "Elsewhere" is a journey to the land of historic Palestine, a place that lives in our imagination. Steve Sabella reveals an archaeology of the future in multi-layered photo-chrome images from 19th century historic Palestine, including a pictures from Syria and Lebanon.

Steve Sabella (*1975 in Jerusalem, Palestine)is a Berlin-based widely exhibited international artist using photography and photographic installations as his primary forms of expression. Probing into the colonization of the imagination, he is the author of the award-winning memoir The Parachute Paradox  (2016).

The Seeker is a fictive character, an artwork/performance which reinterpret archival material and biographies via discarded histories and archival waste. The exhibit shows the tragic-absurd costumed object of Katarina Šević, The Seeker, together with a video documenting a brilliant performative action through Budapest's city waste by Katarina Šević together with artist and researcher Gergely László. 

Gergely László (*Budapest) is an artist and university lecturer whose projects deal with constellations of collective memory. 
Katarina Šević (*Novi Sad) is an artist and designer whose practice unfolds in performances, objects, costumes and publication projects.

"If the face is a politics, then the dissolving of the face is also a politics, which entails becoming real." With this Solo Exhibit of Katharina Karrenberg's recent diffracted photographic works, Meine Kleine Mnemosyne recapitulates a Taswir theme - "Faces and Effaced Faces" - in the context of artistic research undoing the colonial imagination. Karrenberg's Solo is accompanied by the artists ensemble of MKM. Her solo works in this exhibit are not for sale.

MEMORIES (2023): Der Künstler Nouri Almashhour schafft fliessende, traumartige Erzählungen in Rot, garten-teppichartige Räume mit fliegenden, schwebenden, sprechenden Figuren ohne Schwerkraft, frei von linearer Perspektivität. Wir zeigen Almashhours erste Solo Exhibit in Berlin, begleitet vom Künstler-Ensemble House of Taswir, Walid Raad, Ali Kaaf, Elisabeth Masé, u.a. Nouri Almashhour (*1994 in Syrien) lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.

Anita Kapraljevics Werke sind von historischen Gemälden inspiriert. Die Künstlerin schafft eine malerische Ebene, die Orte und Zeiten wie im Traum verbindet. Das Werk XXX  zeigt eine weibliche Widergängerin, eine Fürstin der Grenze, transsilvanische Wächterin innerer Ängste. Ihr Solo "XXX" wird von Positionen der Mnemosyne begleitet. Kapraljevic, geb. in Mostar, zeigt Ausstellungen in Europa, USA, und Deutschland. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.

In der Tradition der (jüdischen) Salonières und Wohnzimmer-Ausstellungen der 20er, 80er, und 00er Jahre in Berlin (Moskau, Beirut, Istanbul), lädt House of Taswir am Samstag, 29. April zur Vernissage ein. Vorgestellt wird ein einziges Kunstwerk, das vom Ensemble der Kleinen Mnemosyne begleitet wird.
