Profile

The Galerie Gegen & Lücke represents emerging artists in Berlin. Founded in 2024, it continuously shows solo and group exhibitions in its exhibition space at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin-Mitte. With a focus on artistic positions in painting and sculpture, the gallery emphasizes the traditional media of fine art. As part of Culterim, the gallery stands for approachable and qualitative exhibitions in the commercial art scene.

As an active unit in the overall Culterim enterprise, the gallery is part of the Initiative for Art and Culture. By representing its artists on the art market, the gallery builds a bridge to the commercial sector. All of the gallery's profits flow back to the represented artists on the one hand and to Culterim's other units on the other. In this way, the gallery partially finances affordable studios, exhibition spaces and residencies for the entire cultural landscape.

Upcoming

12.06. – 01.08. Ferrohaze- a small extract of a planetary world. Lars Fischer (solo exhibition). Lars Fischer. Painting. Repro "Zwei Konstruktoren (rot)", Lars Fischer, 2026, Oil and print on PVC, steelframe, 135 x 111 cm

If you break it down, what remains of the man-made world is its skeleton, in a sense : Iron. Every house, every bridge, every road – iron is essential to their creation. It is the substructure of everything that constitutes our modern civilisation, and it is part of what Lars Fischer extracts in his works. Just as iron is extracted from the earth, he extracts fragments of images from the digital world and incorporates them into his paintings, arguably the most modern way of combining classical painting with the digital visual world.

Past

30.04. – 06.06. "Ätschi Bätsch". Björn Heyn (solo exhibition). Björn Heyn. Painting, Sculpture, Installation.

Björn Heyn's works show still-life-ish motifs and familiar everyday scenes. Rich in color and often very humorous, they open up a perspective on the world. The collaged reflections of reality continuously anchor the works in the present and refer to the artist's intuitive yet emergent way of working. Björn Heyn's artistic practice makes playful use of different media and simultaneously creates a continuum among them.

13.03. – 24.04. "The Diver's Dream of Flying". Kevin Lüdicke (solo exhibition). Kevin Lüdicke. Painting, Work on Paper, Drawing, Installation. Repro 1. "Wo schlafen Vögel" 2. "The diver's dream of flying", Kevin Lüdicke , 1. 2026 2. 2026, 1. Charcoal, acrylic, oil on canvas 2. Diver, water, bucket, waterpump, 1. 248 x 370 cm 2. 255 x 59 x 96 cm , Photo: Jannis Uffrecht

Kevin Lüdicke's artistic practice moves between painting and sculptural works.

His paintings open up pictorial spaces between reality and invention as well as order and dissolution.

In spatial compositions, precise figurative structures meet abstract elements and create the narration of real circumstances in a surreal world. By combining illustrative and painterly work, Kevin Lüdicke invents unexpectedly familiar atmospheres and allows situations and experiences to overlap.

In his sculptural works, he deals with fountains and water fountains. These vivid installations interrupt the familiar and invite us to experience them together. As poetic disruptions, places of encounter are created and technical complexity is shown in effortless appearance.

23.01. – 07.03. "looks perfect to me". Lars Fischer, Kevin Lüdicke, Elisa Breyer, Anna Zachariades, Jan Koslowski. Painting, Work on Paper, Drawing, Sculpture, Mixed. Repro "IRGENDWO DAHINTEN", Lars Fischer, 2025, oil, print, PVC, steel frame, 70,5 x 84,5 cm , Photo: Jannis Uffrecht

"(...) I hope the birds return. I hope for the return of the seasons. I hope for summer. I hope for the old people in the city. I hope for a conversation. I hope for the city as the greatest work of art of our civilization. I hope for a day and a night. I hope for looking beyond the rim of the plate and further still. A hoping for hopeful days. A moment of: (EPILOGUE) LINGER A WHILE. Just a little longer. Until I have strength again. Until I can see again, the beauty of this city, and of the people and animals. And the sky, which ceaselessly crashes down upon us and bursts at the edges, only to stretch itself over us once more. And I wish for myself: a morning and an evening. And a time for us. LOVE in the evening and love in the morning. Longingly, I think of love in the morning. Was it not, by far, more beautiful than love in the evening?( ...)"
