Salustiano works with few elements, but each one is forceful and bold—without embellishment. They are like a haiku-molotov, a torpedo-missile aimed at the waterline of anyone who gazes at his work. He tends to use few colors, but all are charged with meaning and spirituality. Not by chance, those tones are often considered sacred by many religions. There is a sense of transcendence in his work, but it is a very specific kind of transcendence. It occurs at the moment of contemplation, not in another life. In recent years, Salustiano has exhibited his work around the world. The list of exhibitions, publications, and recognitions he has garnered is long and varied, yet all these appearances share the same living, unfinished vocation with which he approaches painting.
