Galerie Friedmann-Hahn is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a comprehensive solo exhibition of the internationally renowned painter Nikolai Makarov.

His paintings are created using old master techniques, enhanced by delicate sfumato glazes and finely applied color pigments via airbrush. Makarov’s works are characterized by a meditative depth and poetic restraint. His images oscillate between darkness and light, inviting the viewer to pause and engage in inner reflection.

Galerie Friedmann-Hahn presents new works by Spanish artist Laura Nieto (*1978). In Paisajes Fantásticos, she creates dreamlike landscapes between nature and architecture. Using vibrant colors, gold leaf, and skies tinted in red or pink, she composes scenes of surreal beauty – fantastic, otherworldly, and poetic. The boundaries between reality and imagination begin to dissolve in her paintings – as if stepping into another world.

The exhibition is complemented by his atmospheric oil paintings. Mönster’s work combines precise draftsmanship with cinematic poetry – striking and unmistakable. His motifs evoke film scenes from bygone times, infused with subtle melancholy and lightness.

Non finito shows a selection of new works by the Spanish artist Laura Nieto in which everything revolves around the lightness of the unfinished. With her dynamic application of oil and spray paint, she playfully captures the shimmering warmth of Mediterranean city life or lightly flowing flower arrangements - the interplay of light and shadow in Nieto's works opens up visual worlds that invite us to continue painting them in our minds.

In his large-format works, the New York painter Donald Vaccino juxtaposes geometric blocks of color with figurative elements that describe his personal world - carried by two-dimensional coloring and tense lines. The painterly statement arises from the harmony of the colored surfaces. The color scheme, the playful composition of the picture and the lightness of his subjects are the result of long studies.
