The artist Reiner Zitta, born in Buchelsdorf/Czech Republic in 1944, is a universal artist in the spirit of Joseph Beuys. He has lived and worked in an old Franconian mill since 1978. He is a member of the local artist group Borgo-Ensemble. He recycles poetic and fetish-like image objects from discarded and found objects. In his drawings he works delicately and in a fairytale-like way. We show a tiny selection from his unmanageable, overcrowded Chambers of Wonder.

Natascha Mann belongs to a generation of artists whose artistic and professional résumés are inextricably linked to their personal way of life and experience. Her sheer overwhelming creativity draws from the rich source of her experience on trips and residences in near and far countries, as well as her experience with the medium of painting itself and the virtuoso mastery of all its techniques in reverse glass painting, etching, woodcut etc. leads her to new shores time and time again. To date this has earned her many admirers nationally and internationally.

20.10.2023 – 15.12.2023 Riding on a Boat of Fools. Gregor Hiltner. Painting. Repro Narrenschiff, Gregor Hiltner, 2012, Öl und Acryl auf Leinwand, 180 x 340 cm

Boats, especially boats of fools, are among the artist's leitmotifs. This is not surprising, as he can use them to display the themes that occupy him throughout his life: Travel and departure to other worlds, and man's being at the mercy of hostile elements. This existential being-thrown-into-the-world and the resulting insecurity are Hiltner's central themes, as well as the short-sighted and often absurd handling of this situation, which he observes in himself and his fellow travelers. We look forward to a variety of often very large-scale paintings and drawings from different creative periods and techniques, including brand new works.

Who could be better in shedding light on the labyrinthine nature of artistic work than the artist and curator Gregor Hiltner, who will introduce the exhibition with a short lecture at 4:30 pm.
