The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (formerly the Prussian Academy of Sciences and Humanities) is an association of outstanding scientists and scholars with a tradition spanning more than 300 years and transcending disciplinary and national borders. As the largest non-university humanities research institution in the region, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities preserves, researches and develops cultural heritage for the present and the future. It serves to promote the sciences, provides social and political advice and promotes dialog between science and society.

The works of artist Claudia Berg are a lifelong exploration of Italy. Her drawings, drypoint etchings and paintings bear witness to a great fascination for the historical places and landscapes of Italy. The artist is interested in the interaction between man and landscape: How do buildings blend in with nature? How does nature reclaim its spaces? In the exhibition, Claudia Berg is showing series from various trips to Italy.
