Galerie Georg Nothelfer is pleased to present the first solo exhibition with new works by Iranian artist Elmira Iravanizad (*1987). Her work encompasses a variety of themes, materials and artistic genres. Iravanizad archives, arranges and reuses the remains of her artistic work. Her forms, which move from artwork to artwork as well as from one genre to another and are thus permanently in a state of suspension, are reminiscent of the artist's cultural background in Iran, of the urban landscapes of Tehran, London and Berlin, of connections and seemingly insurmountable ruptures between present and past as well as between different cultures.

Fred Thieler (1916-1999) is one of the important representatives of German Informel.

Jan-Peter E.R. Sonntag (*1965) began his work on space in space in the early 1990s with monochromatic gas discharge light systems and fields of standing, sinusoidal infrasound waves - also influenced by the processuality and immediacy of Informel.

Edgar Hofschen (1941-2016) studied painting at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf from1972 to 1975. In 1977 he took part in documenta 6 in Kassel, along with Gianfranco Zappettini and other Analytic artists. Topics in Edgar Hofschen's work are separation and connection, and the color in its materiality, as well as in its psycho-physiological effect. Hofschen used materials such as tent canvas, and sail cloth, which were worked with seams, tears, paper strips and wood glue.
