12.10. – 09.11. Architecture and Wilderness. Gemälde von Carola Schapals. Carola Schapals. Painting. Repro Great cinema above the water surface, Carola Schapals, 2024, Oil on canvas, 100 x 100 cm, Photo: Carola Schapals

Carola Schapals' works once again express the artist's subtle sense of color and mature talent for composition. She develops pictorial motifs full of contrasts from her travel impressions. Here, linear architecture merges with unspoilt landscapes, cool colors shine in warm light through deliberately placed highlights and the deserted picture is populated by the viewers themselves. The paintings send out an invitation: Come in and find peace.

07.09. – 05.10. Impact and Reflexion. Skulptur | Tafelobjekt | Crossover Painting. Hannes Mussner, Jürgen Paas, Willi Siber, Martina Ziegler. Painting, Sculpture, Installation. Repro AP-Magricollage III-Lucy in the sky, Martina Ziegler, 2021, Painting, Crossover Painting, C-Print on Alu Dibond behind Acryl, 100 x 100 cm, Photo: Martina Ziegler

The works of Hannes Mussner, Jürgen Paas, Willi Siber and Martina Ziegler not only "live" through reflection, they also give the viewer the impetus to look back and question their own perception. The artists work with different materials. They are united by the desire to show the chosen material to its best advantage. The juxtaposition of the objects increases their radiance, so that the viewer immediately enters into a dialog with the art.

Serie: Fayencen, Roland Stratmann, 2023, Diptychon mit je 3 Ansichtskarten, 17 x 23 cm, Photo: Roland Stratmann

Five artists explore the theme of body and vessel in different ways. They explore the world of objects and place them in relation to their own bodies, linking them with fragmented bodies, historical figures or current pictorial inventions. This leads to unusual juxtapositions and references. In the exhibition, superimpositions of contemporary history, hybrid creatures and symbiotic connections form an exciting combination of visual and haptic impressions.

The focus is on the characteristics, symbolic content and life cycle of an animal in relation to humans. The animals appear individually, in company and in groups. Looking at them, the viewer feels the smooth movement of the predator or listens to the dynamics of a school of fish. Multifaceted in terms of material, technique and motif, the exhibition "animalistic" also questions man's sense of responsibility towards the animal world and the environment as a whole.

The exhibition "landscape" includes various approaches to the motif "nature". Every artist finds his own individual approach and approaches the topic "nature/architecture" in his own way. The urbanity of the cities is embedded in a wild landscape, sealed off from the rest of the world, the boundaries between artificial and natural are blurred. Image, fiction and abstraction skilfully flow into each other.

They are women who, like themselves, go their own way with self-confidence, sometimes very provocatively. Their shape and color aesthetics were inspired by numerous trips to Africa.
