Der World Press Photo Contest zeichnet jährlich die besten Fotojournalist:innen und Dokumentarfotograf:innen aus. Dieses Jahr reichten 3.752 Fotografen aus 127 Ländern 60.448 Fotos ein. Der Freundeskreis Willy-Brandt-Haus präsentiert die World Press Photo Ausstellung bereits seit 20 Jahren und zu diesem runden Jubiläum wird es in der Ausstellung auch den einen oder anderen Rückblick auf die besten Pressebilder der letzten beiden Jahrzehnte geben.  

The group exhibition HOME AGAIN features recent photographic and video works that explore the adaptability of a rapidly changing society. The artists set out in search of responses to the global transformation processes that are shaping our world today. How do people come together during and after crises? The group exhibition "Fragments of War – Pictures from Ukraine" shows the photographs by OSTKREUZ photographer Johanna-Maria Fritz (with the series "In the Garden a Grave") and by the two photographers Helena Lea Manhartsberger and Laila Sieber (with the series "Where you can hear the silence"). All three made their way to Ukraine at the beginning of the war. They wanted to be there themselves and capture the incomprehensible in pictures: a war of aggression in Europe, an attack on democracy. 

The World Press Photo Contest annually honors the best photojournalists and documentary photographers. This year, 64,823 entries were submitted by 4,066 photographers from 130 countries. Freundeskreis Willy-Brandt-Haus presents the World Press Photo exhibition for the 19th time. The photographs of the nominees and winners can be seen from 20 May to 12 June at Willy-Brandt-Haus.
