To introduce the uniqueness of the Korean alphabet Hangeul to the world, the Korean Cultural Center will showcase this remarkable exhibition in its gallery from June 14, 2024, to September 27, 2024.

More than 30 innovative cultural objects incorporating elements of the Korean script will be presented. Reinterpretations of the history and culture of Hangeul invite visitors to experience the Korean alphabet with various senses, directly appreciating both its aesthetic value and its unlimited potential for practical application.

An exhibition for everyone who uses, learns, or wants to learn more about Hangeul, as well as for those interested in Korea and its culture.

From 2017, gallery damdam, the gallery of the Korean Cultural Center Germany, has started a regular program which invites artists participating in the residency at Künstlerhaus Bethanien an opportunity to have a final presentation. Seulki Ki, who has successfully completed the International Studio Program 2020 at Künstlerhaus Bethanien supported by Art Council Korea, is the seventh artist selected for this program. 

The Korean Cultural Center Germany is hosting an artist talk by Mire Lee and a lecture by Rita (Yeonsook Lee) as a part of Mire Lee's solo exhibition at Schinkel Pavillon. In this event, both the speakers will share their research in relation to the works of a South Korean poet, Unhee Kim and a Swiss artist, H.R. Giger.

The Korean Cultural Center Germany invites a ceramist, Young-jae Lee to have an exhibition at gallery damdam. Lee is an internationally recognized, award-winning artist and also, the managing director of the Keramische Werkstatt Margaretenhöhe in Essen since 2006. In this exhibition she will present her ceramics in collaboration with a photographer, Dokyun Kim. This exhibition is curated by Prof. Dr. Jeong-hee Lee-Kalisch.

The Korean Cultural Center (gallery damdam) presents Hyelim Cha's solo exhibition "Celebes" from May 21 to June 19. For this exhibition, Cha has created new artworks that explore the relationships between community, society, and the individual, as well as Berlin's underworld and the role of history and artists. 

The Real DMZ Project is a contemporary art and research project focused on issues of the DMZ and the border area. The RDP is pleased to present an online exhibition to bring the artists’ visionary concepts into virtual realization, and hope that it will contribute to the viewers’ perspectives on and rethinking of the border and the division of Korea.
