In our fast-moving times, loud sounds and intense images are foregrounded. With the SUBTIL exhibition we want to give space to the quiet, subtle statements by reflecting the various artistic means and materials used to highlight the unhightlightable.

Ten members and four guest artists present their current positions and techniques in the traditional rubric of printing in the digital age.

80 artists from the VBK are showing their current positions. In this exhibition a conscious decision has been made not to curate under a specific theme. Rather, the jointly organized exhibition is intended to present a broad range of artistic expression and bring together the diverse positions of the members of the VBK.

The award ceremony took place on March 15, sponsored by the Lions Club Berlin-Alexanderplatz and organized by the Berlin Artists' Association. The winners of the award - presented for the first time this year - are Anja Eichler, Christoph Damm and Sylvia Seelmann. All the nominees' works can be seen at the Verein Berliner Künstler gallery until April 7.

The feeling of time is perceived very individually. Although we all live in the same time, everyone experiences it 
in their own way. The sense of time can be short-lived or give us the feeling of being on an endless journey through 
space and time - travelling through time. We may either lose touch with reality or see it much more clearly. This
exhibition tries to make this expierence tangable - to make the warp visible.

The five artists offer different ways of dealing with levity in their works on the subject. Through their play with materiality, structure and representation, their positions create a multifaceted presence that develops an unexpected dynamic in relation to the other exhibts on display.

The gallery VEREIN BERLINER KÜNSTLER presents its winter exhibition "The Lyrical Aspect" from the 2nd to 31st December 2023. 

In this exhibition, 80 artists from the VBK will show a wide range of positions from painting, photography, object art, video art, drawing, graphics and sculpture.

The opening exhibition IN PROCESS will present current artistic thoughts on the subject of ecological, technical and economic changes and challenges. A year-long project on the topic of the Anthropocene is planned, accompanied by scientific discussions, which is expected to conclude in the coming autumn of 2024 with a panel discussion and an in-depth exhibition documentation.

Irritation - a maximum aesthetic confusion is the 3rd part of the joint multimedia exhibition by artists living in Switzerland and Berlin with the generic term "irritation". Irritation is understood as a concept of rediscovery through uncertainty, confusion, agitation and propagated by this exhibition. In cooperation with VEBIKUS Kunsthalle Schaffhausen and FATart Schaffhausen now on view at Galerie VBK.

The exhibition is mainly about the city, reflecting humanity's tendency to concentrate in cities. In 2050, 70% of people will live in cities. The subject of architecture - future and present - is dealt with in a variety of positions and media.

Nowhere is forgetting more passionate than in Berlin. As in ancient Troy, nine urban epochs lie beneath today's Berlin, the world`s capital of forgetting. The violent excesses of the last century destroyed many things, not just people and buildings. From the sparse remains in the archives, the task is to form a memory that fills some of the gaps - mostly only on paper or digitally. In special cases, however, the memory must be spatialised in order to regain cultural memory.

From 12/08/23 to 03/09/23 16 Artists of the VBK present their reflections on personal loss, communal or social demise and global extinction. No matter on what scale, every loss of a life component begets an answer to its disappearance. With this motto in mind, the artists investigate unusual ways to approach the subject.

In this exhibition objects are presented in a new way. Bodies we think we know are dismantled and reassembled. Figures oscillate from hardness to softness, and images that irritate us at first become cues for a new way of percieving the world.

Ila Wingen, Katrin Salentin, Michael Koch and Jochen Schlick share visual abstraction as a common basis. Their current works deal with transformation in form, time and space. As part of the exhibition, a joint edition will be presented as a NFT.

Update is the society's annual exhibition where its members can present their current positions without any guidlines or restrictions. Its motto is to express diversity and artistic liberty through many forms and techniques.

We live in the age of the Anthropocene, in which the natural foundations of life are almost without exception humanly over formed, and increasingly destroyed. We are slowly gaining an awareness that our actions and inactions will determine how long we can continue to live on this planet. A new form of thinking is urgently needed. This exhibition is dedicated to what extent openness and holism of an artistically formed thinking can overcome our tendency to create more and more of the same.

From February 25, 2023 to March 19, 20 artists present traditional printing techniques such as letterpress, intaglio, planographic, through-printing and their mixed forms in contemporary expression at the gallery VEREIN BERLINER KÜNSTLER. Small editions will be printed as unique pieces for the exhibition.

As part of the exhibition, there will be workshops and various guided tours, which we would like to invite you to participate in.

In this year's winter exhibition, artists will deal with life and the social consequences of "Bad News". There will be artistic works on display, in which both small joys of everyday life, ironic, satirical, as well as reactions to "bad news", "fake news" and the like are emotionally expressed. The association's in-house exhibition is a format to which the artists can exhibt current work, or present previous works on the topic.

The exhibition "Von Clowns und anderen Schweinehunden - Bilder unserer Selbst" (Of Clowns and Other Asses - Images of Ourselves) offers a holistic experience around the question of who lives inside us and how the current crisis is having an impact on our psyche.

On display are primarily the three dimensional works of five sculptors and/or object artists. For this exhibition larger exhibits will be presented in the garden grounds of the art association. Accompaning them, two dimensional works will be presented in the gallery as the the artists see fit.

When dinosaurs meet aliens and bags of garbage, it can only be about one topic: climate change. The phenomenon is so complex that it permeates all areas of our lives. And without consistent and decisive countermeasures, all changes head to a critical point - the "tipping point" or Klimakipppunkt in German. In their works, the artists deal with the causes and effects of climate change.

Without a specific theme, UPDATE is a group exhibition in which the artists of the VBK express each year their individual positions in free artistic form. This year's exhibition gathers 79 perspectives, presenting at the same time the versatility of the concept of art and the diverse positions the members of the VBK have to offer.
